The company on microblogging site Twitter, announced it. The update comes nearly a month after Moto X (2nd Gen) in India got the Android 5.0 Lollipop update.

The update should be an Over-The-Air (OTA) one. Users will have the opportunity to check their phone manually for updates.To check the software update, one can go to: settings> About phone>System update. When it says 'Your system is up to date', start checking details after some time.

Android 5.0 Lollipop update bought some special features for the Moto X (2nd generation) and it remains to be seen whether they will come to Moto G as well. It is available on Flipkart for Rs 12,999 and is also has an exchange offer which ends on Moto G 2nd gen and Moto X 2nd gen. As far as Android Lollipop update is concerned, some features are as follows:

New battery-saver feature that extends the life of your device by upto 90 minutes—will be helpful if you are far from a power outlet. It’s also easier to manage your power usage. The OS adds a feature which gives the estimated time left before you need to charge and when it’s charging, it tells you how much time it will need to charge before it’s ready to go.
