Movie: Game

 Cast: Abhishek Bachchan, Kangana Ranaut, Sarah Jane Dias, Jimmy Sheirgill, Gauhar  Khan, Shahana Goswami, Boman Irani, Anupam Kher;

Director: Abhinay Deol

Jagran Rating: Disappointing

story line:  Game is an action thriller with suspense. The story of the movie moves around its main characters, drug dealer Neil Menon (Abhishek Bachchan), a Prime Ministerial candidate from Bangkok OP Ramsay (Boman Irani ), a superstar Vikram Kapoor (Jimmy Shergill), a  journalist Tisha Khanna  (Shahana Goswami ), an industrialist from Samos (Anupam Kher), International Vigilance Squad officer Sia (Kangana Ranaut) and a club dancer Maya (Sarah Jane Dias).

Neil Menon, Vikram Kapoor, Tisha Khanna, OP Ramsay are invited by Kabir  Malhotra(Anupam Kher) on an Island, named Samos. But no one knows who he is and they all are totally strangers to each other. Then a murder takes place and everyone is suspected to be involved in the murder.

As the movie goes on the audience comes to know that each of the characters can be a murderer as all of them have some or the other motive for the murder.  Will the chief investigation officer be able to resolve the mystery?

Thumbs up: The movie belongs to action and murder mystery genre. As far as the trailers are concerned, the movie seems to be sleek and pretty cool. There are really too little things that can be given credits. The song ‘Maine ye kab socha’ is really ear soothing among all others.

Anyway, directed by debutant Abhinay Deo, ‘Game; will be the first big budget multi-starrer movie releasing after a long gap so it can be expected that there will be many fans waiting for the movie to hit the theatres and this aspect can work wonders for the film.

Thumbs down: The film lacks both soul and substance. It’s really tough to believe how Farhan Akhtar can be a part of such a film.

Thought the locales are exotic, we can’t remember a single song including the item number by Sarah Jane Dias. Shankar, Ehsaan and Loy have failed to spin magic this time.

It is very surprising why Sarah Jane Dias makes such an insignificant debut as the girl who dies. She also has nothing much to say and do in this movie.

Junior Bachann’s acting is not at all convincing but watching Kangana as a cop in her own unusual accent is really funny.
Jimmy Shergill and Shahana Goswami are left high and dry in a script that offers them nothing. Shahana Goswami's potential is wasted away.

Too many loose ends and unanswered questions coupled within necessary characters that completely makes the movie ‘Game’  an average watch, with predictable twists and turns.
