Film: Ekkees Toppon Ki Salaami

Director: Ravindra Gautam

Cast: Anupam Kher, Neha Dhupia, Divyendu Sharma, Aditi Sharma

Storyline: The story is about two sons Shekhar and Subhash Joshi who set out to get what their father, Purushotam Joshi (essayed by Anupam Kher), had dreamt of all through his life, the ultimate sign of respect, an Ekkees Toppon Ki Salaami (21 gun salute).

Purushotam is a common man who fails to earn his bit of appreciation despite being completely honest during his life-long service as a government employee. Joshi’s sons are however willing to go the extra mile to fulfill their father's only wish. Will they succeed in their endeavour?

The film is an high on thrill and laughter drama that takes the audience through the unbelievable attempt of the two sons, to provide their father an Ekkees Toppon Ki Salaami.

The film has a message told in an entertaining and satirical manner. It is a film about the confrontation between a father and son, the kind that we see in our day-to-day life. It is not a preachy film, it is a commercial film with its message wrapped in the garb of entertainment.

Director Ravindra Gautam who has directed popular daily soaps like Kasautii Zindagi Ki, Uttaran, Bade Achhe Lagte Hain and Madhubala, celebrates the common man by dissecting his life and struggles in his Bollywood directorial debut.

The music is an integral part of any film and there are three songs in the film. Composer Ram Sampath has inspired the songs from the film's storyline. The songs are not just there for the heck of it; they are based on the situations in the film. They serve to take the story to another level.

'Chashme Baddoor' actor Divyendu Sharma is brilliant with his comic timing, while Neha Dhupia adds the glamour quotient in the film. Anupam Kher's performance is outstanding and definitely the USP of the film.
