Film: Raja Natwarlal

Director: Kunal Deshmukh

Cast:  Emraan Hashmi, Humaima Malick, Paresh Rawal, Deepak Tijori, Kay Kay Menon

Storyline: Raja Natwarlal (Emraan Hashmi) is a short-time con artist who with his friend-cum-partner in crime Raghav ( Deepak Tijori) fool around with people with their tricks. Life of Raja changes when Raghav is killed by a powerful ‘kingpin’ Varda Yadav (Kay Kay Menon).

The film then turns into a revenge-saga. Raja seeks help from a con guru Yog (Paresh Rawal) to find Varda and from here the story takes an interesting turn. The equation between the guru-chela is endearing and gives you many laughing moments.

Review: The movie is a typical Emraan Hashmi film and it cannot be compared with Amitabh Bachchan’s version of Natwarlal. ‘Raja Natwarlal’ has everything that audiences expect from Hashmi’s films and he can be seen with his witty expressions playing with the money.

One of the USP of the film is the acting by its casts. Paresh Rawal, as a gyan guru, has again shown his acting marvels and Kay Kay Menon as a king pin is brilliant.

Emraan Hashmi has always shared a great chemistry with his leading ladies. This time too we can see the same charm between the pair. Humaima is more than a glamour quotient.

Serial Kisser Emraan Hashmi’s films may not do well at the Box Office every time but the songs of his films are always super hit. However, the songs of Raja Natwarlal have fared averagely amongst the audiences but dialogues are strong and funny. So here we can conclude that the film is entertaining and can be seen atleast once.
