Storyline: The story starts introducing Danish (Dhanush) a small town boy who is a movie buff. He is crazy about films and aspires to become an actor. However, he lacks the look and voice to be a star. Akshara Haasan who essays the role of an assistant director spots Danish and helps him become a movie star. While searching for someone who could lend good voice to Danish, they come across Amitabh Sinha (Amitabh Bachchan) who was a drunkard living inside a cemetery and having a heavy voice.

Danish and Amitabh together became a brand called 'Shamitabh'. The story further revolves around the ego between the two and why they departed and how Akshara tried to bridge the gap between them.

Review: 'Shamitabh' is a unique amalgamation of Dhanush and Amitabh. Both the stars have a mega fan following and to watch them sharing the screen space is certainly a treat to watch.

The actors impresses with their acting skills. The tantrums Amitabh throws seems very real. His powerful voice creates magic in the film. The simplicity and talent of Dhanush have worked for the film. The newcomer Akshara Haasan has been able to make her presence felt. However, her role of going out of way to help an unknown person was not very convincing.

R Balki has presented the story in a very unconventional way. As the film is set up at the backdrop of film industry, the presence of celebs like Rekha, Anurag Basu, Karan Johar, Raj Kumar Hirani, Mahesh Bhatt, Gauri Shinde and Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra gave the film a magnificent look.

The song 'Piddly' crooned by Amitabh and music given by Illaiyaraaja is entertaining. The two hours and 25 minutes film is the complete entertainer.
