Film: Sonali Cable

Director: Charudutt Acharya

Cast: Rhea Chakraborty, Ali Fazal, Raghav Juyal, Anupam Kher, Smita Jaykar

Storyline: Sonali Cable is the story of a spunky young Maharashtrian girl who is a high school passout. She along with her band of ghetto boys runs a thriving business providing broadband to a sprawling Mumbai neighborhood. She gives personalised services as she is well acquainted with everyone. Her childhood sweetheart returns from the United States and helps bring her small enterprise into the 21st century. Complications arise when a huge corporation run by the self made Vaghela (Anupam Kher) wants her out to complete their monopoly of Broadband Internet in the city. However, Sonali refuses to surrender and declares a war against the corporate giant.

Review: Sonali Cable is based on a real life incident that happened with our writer and director Charudutt Acharya. The film is about an underdog — it’s the classic ‘David and Goliath’ story. Rhea has given a decent performance in the film and has fit into the role perfectly. Young and fresh pairing of Rhea Chakraborty and Ali Fazal is also a plus point for the film. Although the songs are not very popular among the audience, the club mix called "Cheenti Cheenti Bang Bang" is a fun and peppy number. The song shows off the dance moves of the King of Slow Motion, choreographer Raghav Juyal, who makes his debut with this film. The film has great performances from Swanand Kirkire, Raghav Juyal, Smita Jaykar and Anupam Kher whom you see in a totally different role.
