Film: Fugly JPN
Director: Kabir Sadanand
Cast: Jimmy Shergill, Mohit Marwah, Vijender Singh, Arfi Lamba, Kiara Advani
‘Fugly’, produced by Akshay Kumar, is a fast paced masala film having a social message. 'Fugly', which is touted as the youth entertainer of the year, also features Salman Khan and Akshay Kumar in guest appearances. Both Khiladi Kumar and Dabangg Khan will be seen grooving to a song sung by Yo Yo Honey Singh in the film.
It is the cinema of social awakening, which tackles issues such as gay prostitution, khaki-clad fascism and the excess of television journalism.
Storyline: Fugly, set in the lanes of Delhi, is a story of four friends- Dev (Mohit Marwah), Devi (Kiara Advani), Gaurav (Vijender Singh) and Aditya (Arfi Lamba) who have just passed their college and are yet to begin their careers. Their dreams and expectations come to a jolt one night when the four friends come across an evil incarnate SHO, Chautala (played by Jimmy Shergill), who is an extremely fearless and equally corrupt police officer. Their fun filled and care free life changes from here and what follows is politics, parties, suspense and chases.
Review: ‘Fugly’ will see the debut of three newcomers- Olympic winner Vijender Singh, Anil Kapoor’s nephew Mohit Marwah and Juhi Chawla’s neice Kiara Advani. As newcomers, all the three have successfully impressed with the superlative acts. Kabir Sadanand seems to be a smart director. He looked fresh in his vision and enchanting in the execution of the movie. Last but not the least, Jimmy Shergill turns to be the show stealer. Donned in a tough gray character, Shergill looks impressive and is a must watch. The music track of the film is already leading the chart.
