Bhopal: Taking the entire episode of cash inducements to the mediapersons seriously, Senior Bhartiya Janata Party leader L K Advani has commissioned the president of his party unit in Madhya Pradesh, Prabhat Jha, to investigate whether bribes were offered to journalists in exchange for coverage to his yatra in Satna.

Advani’s anti-graft ‘Jan Chetna Yatra’ hit controversy soon after entering the state.

Meanwhile, the Congress has alleged that BJP is bribing journalists in order to hide corruption thriving in the state.

Defending the allegations of being present at the media briefing during which media persons were allegedly paid envelope of notes, BJP MP Ganesh Singh said that he had left the venue soon after the media briefing was over.

He denied cash distribution to the journalists by the party and assured of conducting a transparent inquiry.
