Gwalior: Troubles for the ruling BJP in the city Municipal Corporation and Mayor Sameeksha Gupta fails to die down as the rebel councilors have renewed their protest and have taken the matter with the senior leaders of the party.

The rebel leaders on Thursday met party national general secretary, Narendra Singh Tomar to express their grievances.

Earlier, nine rebel councilors had approached the Chief Minister with their complaints. However, the councilors were instead served notices on grounds of indiscipline.

After being in their shell for a few days and gaining the support of more councilors, who were also unhappy with Mayor Sameeksha Gupta, they have once again raised the banner of revolt.

The councilors have been learnt to have apprised Tomar about the Mayor who has not been paying heed to their demands of expediting work in their respective wards.

Instead, they were forced to keep quite on the pretext of discipline, the councilors told Tomar.

They alleged that the Mayor is working under the influence of her family. They brought to light that even demands of some of the Congress councilors given more preference than them.
