Bhopal: Amidst massive outrage across the country over the brutal gang rape in the national capital, there are some people who despite all the angst are not refraining from making irresponsible comments against women. Madhya Pradesh’s Industry Minister Kailash Vijayvargiya has landed himself in trouble by saying that those women, who cross their limits, pay huge price.

"Ek hi shabd hai - Maryada. Maryada ka ulanghan hota hai, toh Sita-haran ho jata hai. Laxman-rekha har vyakti ki khichi gayi hai. Us Laxman-rekha ko koi bhi par karega, toh Rawan samne baitha hai, woh Sita-haran karke le jayega. (One has to abide by certain moral limits. If you cross this limit you will be punished, just like Sita was abducted by Ravana)," Kailash Vijayvargiya said.

This remark has invited huge criticism from different sections of the society including the political fraternity. The National Commission for Women too has strongly objected to Vijayvargiya’s remarks.

Earlier RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat had invited criticism by saying that ‘Rapes happen in India and not Bharat’.
