Bhopal: The Madhya Pradesh Congress on Thursday charged the BJP government in the state with only making promises to farmers and doing nothing to implement them.

"Ever since the BJP came to power in the State in 2003, it has only made promises to farmers without any intention of fulfilling them," the Madhya Pradesh Congress media department chairman Manak Agarwal told reporters.

Agarwal said that the government had promised adequate electricity to farmers but even now they get power for merely six to seven hours a day.

Similarly, he said that the state government has not waived off loans upto Rs 50,000 as the BJP had promised before the 2008 assembly elections.

He also said that the state tourism minister Tukojirao Puar must apologise for his remarks in front of women, that he was a "tiger" and they were all "tigresses".
