Bhopal: The Madhya Pradesh government has decided to remove power major Lanco Amarkantak Power Private Ltd from its blacklist and purchase 300 MW from the company as per the memorandum of understanding (MoU) inked in 2005.

The decision to remove Lanco Amarkantak situated at Pathadi in neighbouring Chhattisgarh was taken by the cabinet at its meeting on Monday.

Cabinet spokesman and parliamentary affairs minister Narottam Mishra told reporters on Tuesday the company was blacklisted as it was not ready to supply power to the state as per the MoU.

"Since the company has now decided to abide by the MoU, it was removed from the black list," he said.

The Madhya Pradesh government had inked an MoU with the company for supplying 300 MW power in the year 2005, but refused to do so later, following which the state government had blacklisted it.
