The government has decided to set up four-member panel at district level to look into the matter. The panel will take decisions on withdrawing cases involving minor offences before December 7, 2007.

Madhya Pradesh Home Minister Babulal Gaur said that this move will curtail 65 percent of the loads on courts.

District Judges, District Collectors and Superintendents of Police have been directed to identify cases to be withdrawn.

After panels report, Shivraj Singh Chouhan government will seek judiciary’s view in this regard.

“The police are also mulling to withdraw few political cases,” Gaur said.
