"A commission of inquiry to look into yesterday's stampede would be set up within two days," Chouhan said.

Death toll reaches 115

115 people were killed and over 100 injured in the stampede near the temple on Sunday following rumours that a river bridge the devotees were crossing was about to collapse.

Chouhan said that the inquiry report would come in about two months and action on it will be taken within 15 days after its submission.

He said that action would be taken against those who are responsible for the stampede. The Chief Minister wished to visit the stampede site but could not go there as he did not get permission for it from the Election Commission.

The Assembly elections are scheduled to be held in the state on November 25.
