Bhopal: Under a revenue collection drive, the power distribution companies in Madhya Pradesh have collected Rs 11, 521 crore during the last fiscal year.

Official sources said the companies collected Rs 1233 crore revenue only in March, which is the highest in the history of state.

The power distribution companies achieved this feat thanks to using all modern technologies and bringing down the commercial losses coupled with the implementation of various schemes devised for tax collection of arrears from electricity consumers.

They said that per unit revenue continues to increase due to speeding up its collection. In 2011-12, the revenue collection has increased to 11, 521 crore with 23 percent growth in compared to previous year.

During the 2010-11, the revenue collection was Rs 9366 crore with 26 percent increase.
