Judicial Magistrate APS Chouhan sent the former minister along with six others to judicial custody till July 2.

Sharma was earlier arrested for his alleged role in recruit of contractual teachers and also in the transport constable recruitment exam scam, a senior STF official said.

Incidentally, both these exams were conducted by the MPPEB, which also held the weights and measures inspector exam, when Sharma was the Madhya Pradesh government's technical education minister.

In a related development, Special Additional Session Judge (STF) Ramkumar Choube rejected the anticipatory bail plea of absconding mining baron Sudhir Sharma, who is also related to the MPPEB scam.

The STF has already announced a reward of Rs 5,000 for information which may lead to Sudhir Sharma's arrest.
