According to reports, Dhoni's lawyers have threatened to issue Rs 100 crore defamation suit against the daily which alleged that India's most successful captain was involved in fixing last match of 2014 Test series against England in Manchester.

A notice was issued saying, “Our client (Dhoni) reserves the right to institute proceedings for the recovery of damages up to Rs 100 crore from you on account of the defamation, mental agony and trauma caused to him due to this by causing loss of his reputation.”

The daily had posted a sting video on February 8th in which DDCA sports secretary Sunil Dev could be seen blaming MS Dhoni of fixing the aforementioned match and choosing to bat first on a bowler friendly track  after winning the toss. Dev later denied the claims saying that video was completely false and he will take actions to sue the publication if they don't take their charges back.
