The camps were organized targeting the local fishermen community and migrant population residing in the area and benefited more than 800 families. These health camps are part of a larger national rural engagement programme called MTS Shakti, a press release said.
Radhakrishnan KV, Chief Operating Officer, Kerala Circle of MTS India said that the health camps are just a start and similar efforts on issues concerning the local communities across Kerala would continue.
The Shakti programme currently covers 200 rural and semi urban areas across India and the plan is to bring 100 more of such areas under the initiative every month for the next 12 months.
