Jammu: Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) patron Mufti Mohammad Sayeed was sworn in as the Chief Minister and Deputy Chief Minister of Jammu and Kashmir on Sunday in a ceremony here attended by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

BJP national president Amit Shah and senior leaders L K Advani and Murli Manohar Joshi as well as Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar were among those present at the occasion.

Mufti will head the PDP-BJP coalition government in the state and will be the Chief Minister for full six-year term.

This is the second time he will be heading a coalition government. In 2002, he led a PDP-Congress alliance and was chief minister for three years.
