New Delhi: Amid the speculations of hovering recession over industrial world and certain issues related to Krishna-Godavari (KG) basin, Reliance Industries’ CMD, Mukesh Ambani, met Prime Minister Manmohan Singh on the Parliament premises.

The details of the meeting are not known, but reports are that the Petroleum Ministry is not willing to approve the expenditure on KG-D6 gas area. It is not confirmed that whether Mukesh has raised this issue in the meeting or not. However, the company is of the opinion that disapproval from the government side of the complete expenditure is against the contract.

Meanwhile, the company’s spokesperson has not commented on this.

The Petroleum Ministry is estimating the cost incurred in the development of KG-D6, which is to be reduced as punitive action against fall in the production.

Petroleum Secretary GC Chaturvedi had on Tuesday said, “Action will be taken in the next 3 to 4 weeks to limit the funds collected by Reliance for KG-D6.”

Notably, the industrial fraternity is concerned over the government‘s slackness in decision making.
