New Delhi: BJP vice-president Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi on Friday demanded security from the Home Ministry after he received a threat call for his remarks made on the hanging of Parliament attack convict Afzal Guru.

Sources said that Naqvi has written letters to Union Home Minister Sushilkumar Shinde and Home Secretary RK Singh demanding for security cover.

Afzal Guru was executed on February 9 in Tihar Jail and buried inside the prison premises. Welcoming the execution of Afzal, Naqvi had said he (Afzal) was a conspirator in waging war against the nation.

The BJP leader said that he had earlier too received such calls.
