Kolkata: Samajwadi Party chief Mulayam Singh Yadav on Thursday accused the Centre of failing to tackle inflation, claiming that the government did nothing to control it.

"The Centre is at fault for this high inflation. The government has done nothing to control it," Yadav said after party's two-day national executive meeting.

He said that there is no shortage of foodgrains in the country, but huge quantity of the same is being wasted.

The government failed to carry out raids to recover foodgrains, which could have tamed inflation, clearly showing its "weakness" in dealing with the issue, Mulayam said.
