Varanasi: Taking a U-turn over his comment to provide employment to rape victims, Samajwadi Party supremo Mulayam Singh Yadav said he had only spoken about justice to the rape victims and not about providing government jobs to them.

"We have said about justice to the rape victims only, this (providing jobs to them) has been added to it," he told reporters when asked about his statement.

The SP leader said stern action would be taken against the rapists in the event of his party coming to power in the state.

Earlier, targeting the BSP government, SP supremo promised to bring unscrupulous elements to book and development works in the state if the party is voted to power.

Addressing a rally in Chandoli and Varanasi, Mulayam spoke at length about his party’s manifesto and policies of his parties.

He even said that if Samajwadi party is voted back to power, the farmers would be exempted from Rs 50,000 of loan.
