Kohima: The fourth phase of multi-media campaign for creating awareness on HIV and AIDS will commence in Nagaland from October to February.

The campaign is the part of National AIDS Control Organisation’s plan for the North-east for promoting awareness, compassion, education and generating support on the issue of HIV and AIDS.

The campaign is being planned by Nagaland State AIDS Control Society, NSACS, in collaboration with Music Task Force and Legislators Forum on AIDS.

According to an NSACS release, the campaign aims to capitalize on the popularity of local entertainment avenues among the youth, especially in the area of music and sports.

The campaign will be carried out at two levels covering all the districts. A state level committee meeting was held in Kohima on Friday under chairmanship of Additional Secretary, Health and Family Welfare, Beiu Angami.

Like in the previous years, the multi-media campaign in the form of “Red Ribbon Superstar Campaign” will cover four components such as awareness through sports, awareness through rock music, awareness through festivals and awareness through interpersonal communication (IPC) with women organizations.
