Ranchi: Working on the initial clues, the National Investigation Agency (NIA) team is trying to establish any possible link of the 13/7 Mumbai blast case with Ranchi.

On late Thursday night, a three member NIA Hyderabad team conducted raid at the residence of terrorist Manzar Imam s/o Ali Imam near the mosque in the Bariatu police station area of Ranchi district

The NIA team searched the documents and interrogated the relatives of Manzar during the raid.

The NIA team was led by SB Murti, and the state police was also present in the raid. Ranchi police has avoided answering the queries related to the findings of the raid.

Praveen Kumar, Senior Superintendent of Police Ranchi confirmed the NIA raid at Ranchi.

Police sources said Manzar is an active member of Students Islamic Movement of India (SIMI) and has linked with Indian Mujahideen (IM). Earlier his name had also figured in the Ahmedabad blast case.

Another resident of Bariyatu area Danish has been already arrested by Gujarat police on the charges of alleged involvement in the Ahmedabad blast.
