Mumbai: A Mumbai court on Friday will hear the bail plea of Sooraj Pancholi, who is an accused of abetting suicide of deceased actress and his alleged girlfriend Jiah Khan.

The 21-year-old actor was earlier remanded to judicial custody till June 27 by a local court.

Meanwhile, director Sanjay Leela Bhansali has praised Sooraj by terming him a hardworking person. Sanjay has reportedly said that it is hard to believe that a person like Sooraj can do anything wrong. Sanjay also said that he would love to work with him in future. Sooraj had assisted Sanjay in his film Guzaarish.

Sooraj, the son of actor couple Aditya Pancholi and Zarina Wahab, was arrested on June 10 after being booked under Section 306 of IPC for allegedly abetting Jiah's suicide, a week after she ended her life at her Juhu home.

His arrest came barely two days after Jiah's family handed over a note to the police allegedly penned by the deceased actress. The letter was recovered by the family of the actress three days after her suicide on June 3.

Jiah Khan, born in New York before moving to London and then Mumbai, made her Bollywood debut in 2007 with the controversial film Nishabd, playing a teenager in love with her best friend's father, played by Amitabh Bachchan.

Later, she went on to star alongside actor Aamir Khan in the blockbuster Ghajini.
