Rajkot: Mumbai Captain Wasim Jaffer's knock and a disciplined effort by the bowlers helped Mumbai defeat Gujarat by a healthy margin of 78 runs in a West Zone T20 match at the SCA stadium at Khanderi here.

Jaffer's quick-fire 70 (51b, 4x7, 6x2), along with important contributions from Sushant Marathe (41 runs, 28b, 4x4 6x1) and youngster Suryakumar Yadav (37 runs, 18b, 4X4,
2X6) helped Mumbai amass 194 for the loss of eight wickets in their allotted 20 overs.

For Gujarat, Ishwar Chaudhary knocked three wickets conceding 31 runs, while Rohit Dahiya and Jesal Karia shared two wickets each.

In reply Gujarat were bundled out for 116 with only three batsmen -- Rajdeep Darbar (33), Niraj Patel (37) and Rohit Dahiya (14) -- reaching double figures.
Left-arm spinner Shoaib Sheikh was the most successful for bowler taking three wickets for 27 runs, while Iqbal Abdulla and Ankit Chavan took two wickets each.
