Mumbai: The Standard Chartered Mumbai Marathon, to be held on the streets of the metropolis on January 20, expects to garner at least Rs 17.5 crore for charity, an increase of around 9 percent from last year.
     
The official charity partner of the event, United Way of Mumbai, said they expect the charity amount to cross Rs 17.5 crore compared to Rs 16.07 crore raised in 2012.
     
The charity partner added that they have so far mobilized Rs 14.4 crore for 232 NGOs.
     
The marathon, an annual event on the calendar, has raised around Rs 71.07 crore in the last nine years for charity.
