Mumbai: Twelve youngsters, some of them college students and minors were on Thursday arrested for allegedly beating to death a 17-year-old boy here, police said.

The victim, Ansh Agrawal, a college student, had a heated argument with a teenager in his locality in suburban Andheri  on Wednesday night. Agrawal sought an explanation from the teenager about an incident a month ago when the latter had allegedly abused his mother and a female friend, they said.

Angered by this, the teenager, along with over a dozen of his friends, thrashed Agrawal with iron rod and bamboos, seriously injuring him, police said. Agarwal was taken to a nearby hospital where he succumbed to injuries, police said.

The teenager was subsequently arrested along with 11 others, they said, adding at least three more persons are still wanted in the case.
