Jaipur: Veteran BJP leader and Public Accounts Committee (PAC) Chairman Murli Manohar Joshi said on Wednesday that the country's biggest investigating agency CBI should get more autonomy.

A person who is loyal and fearless should be appointed as the Director of CBI, said Joshi while addressing a seminar organized by the Sundar Singh Bhandari Charitable Trust in Udaipur.

Questioning the working of CBI, Joshi said, “The investigating agency should divulge information such as number of cases it has received, their disposal and number of pending cases.”

Discussing the 2G spectrum scam, Joshi sought immediate removal of the then Finance Minister and present Home Minister P Chidambaram.

Calling for fresh auction of spectrum, Joshi demanded the license issued under 2G should be cancelled.

Seeking the cancellation of license issued under 2G Spectrum, Joshi sought fresh auction of the spectrum and added that the money should be recovered from the accused.

After retirement one should not be allowed to work for at least three years in a private company, Joshi added.
