Lucknow: Zafaryab Jilani, member of All India Muslim Personal Law Board, on Sunday said that Muslims of Uttar Pradesh would not be affected by shifting of Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi to central leadership.

When asked about whether the Muslims are afraid by the fact that the BJP is mulling to give a larger role to Modi in central leadership, Jilani said. “We are not afraid of Modi and we don’t bother from which constituency he decides to contest election and I am saying this on behalf of all the Muslims of Uttar Pradesh.”

However, Abdur Raheem Qureshi, spokesperson of All India Muslim Personal Law Board, tried to avoid the question saying that the board doesn’t deal with such matters.
