Girl’s body found near Minister’s house

Bhopal: In a shocking incident, a mutilated body of eight-year-old girl was found near the residence of Madhya Pradesh Home Minister Umashankar Gupta’s residence on Monday afternoon. The police have not ruled out rape of the minor before being murdered.

The incident came to light when people found a dog dragging leg of the girl after which the police was informed about the incident.

The police searched the area and found the mutilated body of the girl in the bushes. According to the police, head of the body was crushed by stone and its leg was eaten up by the stray dog, making it virtually impossible to identify.

The girl was identified by her mother on the basis of clothes and slippers the victim was wearing.

SP Rajesh Singh Chandel said that a minor girl went missing on Sunday when she went out with her brother to see fair. The family and relatives searched for her but in vain and later lodged a missing complaint with TT Nagar police station.

Meanwhile, Congress workers staged a dharna near the residence of the home minister. They shouted slogans against the home minister and demanded a high-level investigation into the incident.
