The request has mainly been made in order to prevent producing the duo in court from Banda and Urai district jails in view of law and order situation in Muzaffarnagar following the riots, which claimed 49 lives.
    
The district authorities have requested the court to allow their hearing through video conferencing, a facility available in both the jails in Banda and Urai, District Magistrate Kaushal Raj Sharma said in Muzaffarnagar on Wednesday.
    
Chief Judicial Magistrate KP Singh would decide the proposal of the district authorities here.
    
The hearing of two MLAs is fixed for October 4. BJP MLA Sangeet Som was arrested for his alleged involvement in fake video uploading case and making provocative speeches, which played a role in provoking communal tension.
    
Another BJP MLA Suresh Rana was arrested on the charge of making provocative speeches to incite riots. Later, both the MLAs were booked under the National Security Act. Sangeet Som has been locked up at a jail in Urai while Suresh is in Banda district jail.
