Patiala: In view of the upcoming World Championship, the NADA raided the weightlifting trial camps of National Institute of Sports (NIS) at Bengaluru and Punjab camps and collected 8 and 13 samples respectively.

NADA Director General Rahul Bhatnagar on Sunday informed Danik Jagran over phone that in wake of the World Championship, the trail camps of weightlifting for men is being organised in NIS.

A three member team of NADA in this regard has collected 13 samples of men. The samples would be sent to the research laboratory in New Delhi.”

In addition, eight samples of women weightlifters have been collected from the Bengaluru camps.

Keeping in mind the recent doping cases, Bhatnagar said, “In order to hold the prestige of the nation in the upcoming championship NADA is leaving no stone unturned.”

The reports would be made public by mid September.
