Rumours are rife that Nadda might become the next BJP president if Rajnath takes up a Cabinet portfolio with sources claiming that the RSS is keen on giving the low-profile saffron leader an opportunity to lead the party.

Nadda’s close proximity with Modi has also increased his chances of taking over as the next BJP president.

Rajnath has been widely tipped to become the country’s next Home Minister in Modi's Cabinet and he would have to relinquish the position of BJP president in order to pursue his new role.

Meanwhile, Modi’s right hand man Amit Shah also held a meeting with the PM-elect on Saturday morning in the middle of frenzied huddles that are happening within the party circles over the shape and structure of the new government.

Telegu Desam Party (TDP) chief Chandrababu Naidu would reach the national capital on Saturday night and will be meeting Modi and top BJP leaders to seek substantial representation for his party in the next Cabinet.

Several senior party leaders like Sushma Swaraj, Arun Jaitley, Kalyan Singh, Gopinath Munde, Yogi Adityanath, Varun Gandhi and many newly-elected MPs have met Modi and other top BJP leaders in the past one week to lobby for their favourite Cabinet births.
