The bodies were found inside the trunks dumped near Tau Devi Lal Park, near NH-1, in Bahalgarh here, Sonepat Superintendent of Police Ashok Kumar said.
"The bodies were found in a naked state. While the man was around 30-year old, the woman was around 25-30 years old. The young woman was also wearing a 'chura', a set of bangles traditionally worn by newly-wedded women," the SP said. Asked if it could be a case of honour killing, he said, nothing can be ruled out at this stage.
Haryana Police has formed five teams under the leadership of Gannaur Deputy Superintendent of Police Satish Kumar.  "Police were making best effort to solve the case. We have sent our teams to different parts including Haryana, Uttar Pradesh and Delhi," Kumar said, adding as the bodies were found close to national highway 1, which borders Delhi on one side and Uttar Pradesh on the other.

The bodies have been sent for postmortem. Haryana Police had also alerted its counterparts throughout the country and forwarded photographs of the duo in a bid to help establish identity of the victims, the DSP said.

"We are also trying to find out if there was any missing persons complaint registered in any police station which matches the profile of the two persons whose bodies have been found here," he said.

Kumar said both the bodies bore strangulation marks, it appeared that they were done to death somewhere else and the bodies were dumped here.
The DSP said a case under various Sections of the IPC including 302 (murder) and 201 (causing disappearance of evidence of offence) has been registered against unknown persons. The body parts of the two persons were intact and their face was also clear though there were some injury marks on the bodies, he said.

"We cannot rule out honour killing in the case. It appears that as somebody had beaten them badly. Once their identity is established, it will help shed more light in the case," the official said. The forensic experts also inspected the spot and collected evidences and finger prints from the spot.
