New Delhi: Gujarat Chief Minister and BJP election committee chief Narendra Modi on Wednesday night met party president Rajnath Singh to discuss election campaign-related work allocation. They reportedly discussed issues on which the party should take on Congress.

Leader of the Opposition in Rajya Sabha Arun Jaitley was also present in the meeting. Modi's meeting with Singh and Jaitley came a day after the Chief Minister's one-on-one meeting with RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat in Nagpur on Tuesday.

BJP is likely to make announcements about allocation of responsibilities to its general secretaries and office bearers on Thursday after a parliamentary board meeting. The parliamentary board, the party's highest decision-making body, will also discuss BJP's strategy for the Monsoon Session of Parliament beginning on August 5.

The Food Security Ordinance and the state of the economy are prominent issues that BJP plans to take up in the session.
