These projects are likely to include rocket guidance systems and climate simulators.

Daniel Lockney, who is the Technology Transfer Program Executive at NASA, reportedly said that that the space agency has collected a large amount of software projects, everything from design tools to robotic control systems. It will offer a searchable database of projects.

According to sources, the data can be accessed free of copyright but special clearance would be needed for anyone willing to access projects like rocket guidance systems.

NASA would reportedly also develop a ‘GitHub for astronauts’ by hosting the actual software code in its own online repository, which will be found at technology.NASA.gov.
