New Delhi: In a survey on inflation carried out by Assocham, Delhi has been found to be the worst victim of the skyrocketing price rise.

According to the survey, 55 percent of the middle class families have reduced their consumption of vegetables and fruits. Delhi is on the top of reducing its menu, followed by Mumbai, Ahmedabad, Kolkata and Chennai.

There has been a 15 percent hike in the monthly salaries of the people, while the prices of fruits and vegetables have surged whopping 115 percent. The soaring prices have robbed the platter of common man of daily use vegetables like cabbage, ladyfinger, tomato and potato.

The survey conducted in different cities of India questioned 1000 housewives and 1000 workers. As much as 88 percent of housewives said the price rise has made their life difficult while 65 percent of them find it tough to meet the demand of daily kitchen needs.
