Pune: Union Corporate Affairs Minister M Veerappa Moily on Tuesday said that the new Companies Bill would come up shortly for consideration before the parliament.

Speaking to select corporate leaders after releasing a paper on "Corporate Governance” prepared by Pune International Centre, he also stated that the national corporate governance policy would be ready in about six months time.

"This would be preceded by a series of consultations so that adequate input is taken from corporate world," the minister added.

Moily said a Citibank report has indicated that in 39 years, India will be the number one economy of the world ahead of China and the US.

"In order to be ready for such a situation our corporate governance culture should be inclusive, efficient, innovative and growth oriented," he said.
