New Delhi: Dispute over organizing national hockey camp ended on Monday. The camp for the Olympic preparation by Hockey India commenced in Bangalore.

The previous plan was to have the camp in Bangalore from March 13 but the final decision came after a meeting between Hockey India and Sports Ministry on Monday.

Hockey India Secretary Narendra Batra said, “We had already informed Sports Ministry regarding the Hockey camp that will be scheduled in the first week of March just after the Indian hockey team will qualify for the London Olympics. In addition to these various programmes have been planned for Indian hockey team”.

“The hockey camp has no connection with the ongoing World Series Hockey (WSH) because the domestic tournament is not recognized by HI. We had informed the Sports Ministry in advance about the camp” Batra said.

On being asked about the demand of foreign coach for Indian women’s hockey team, Batra said, “Hockey India has informed Sports Ministry about the matter. Indian women’s hockey team will soon have a foreign coach.”
