The Indian Consulate in Jeddah has come up with this innovation which will be available for use by Indian pilgrims in Saudi Arabia, an official at Information and
Culture Wing, Irshad Ahmad said.

"The new app is in its conceptual stage. We are discussing with the experts on how it is to be used and implemented", he said.

"The Indian Consulate is the first foreign mission to help the pilgrims to locate their home in Mecca and Madina. The pilgrims should carry a smartphone to avail this facility", he said.
The pilgrims without smartphones will be assisted by the volunteers of the consulate.

"Pilgrims without smartphones have to wear identification tags which will be connected to the mobile phone devices of volunteers", Ahmad said.

According to the reports more than 136,000 pilgrims from India are expected to perform Haj this year.
