Aurangabad: Naxals occupied 20 bigha land of JD (U) MLA Ranvijay Singh from Goh and threatened him not to till the land situated at Dihuri village.

The Naxalites hoisted red flags and posted posters on the land warning the MLA against cultivation of the land.  The matter was reported to Goh police on Sunday morning and the police seized flags and posters from the land.

According to DSP Mohd Azhar, four flags and posters containing revolutionary message have been seized from the spot and the matter is being investigated.

SP Vivek Raj Singh said no information regarding land was written in any of the posters. Meanwhile, Singh’s son Pawan Kumar said the Maoists hoisted flags with an intention to grab it.

In 1980, Naxals had attacked family members of the MLA regarding the land and had set fire on the barn.

Notably, Singh is languishing in jail for the past four years in a murder case. He won 2010 assembly election while he was still in jail.
