Srinagar: Amidst speculations that Parliament attack convict Afzal Guru may face the same consequences as that of Ajmal Amir Kasab, the separatist groups in the Kashmir valley have jumped in support of Afzal Guru. Jammu and Kashmir Liberation Front (JKLF) chairman Yasin Malik has dared the Centre to hang Guru.

Surprisingly, controversial National Conference (NC) general secretary Mustafa Kamal who is the uncle of Omar Abdullah has warned of severe repercussions over any decision taken by the Centre to hang Afzal Guru.

In an interview to a TV channel on Thursday, Mustafa Kamal alleged that Afzal has been given death sentence on communal grounds. Had he belonged to some other community he would have been exonerated of all charges. Guru was not directly involved in the Parliament attack incident. We have urged the Centre to give amnesty to Guru or get ready to face another round of terror strikes in Kashmir valley.

This is not the first time that Kamal has made such controversial remarks. He had recently been in the news for calling India the enemy of Kashmiris on which the Chief Minister Omar Abdullah had expressed his anger and tweeted, “Funny thing is I don't need anyone to make things difficult for me when I have relatives to do it for me. They say never work with animals & children. I think it's safe to add relatives to that list as well.”
