Panaji: The NCP on Wednesday demanded that the Manohar Parrikar-led BJP government in Goa should evaluate the performance of its ministers. NCP Goa unit president Nilkant Halarnkar said that CM Manohar Parrikar should act on the promise he made during the constitution of his cabinet in the state Assembly.

"When the Chief Minister appointed his Cabinet, he had promised that he would evaluate the performance of his ministers at the end of six months. It is almost 16 months and there has been no audit of the ministers' performance,” Nilkant Halarnkar told reporters in Panaji.

"The Chief Minister is fully aware that the performance of the government till date has been very poor and any attempt to evaluate it would compel him to sack more than three-fourth of the ministers," Halarnkar claimed.

Meanwhile NCP spokesman Trojan D'Mello also criticized the functioning of the state tourism department and said that the beaches, one of the prime attractions of the state are dirty and there are no proper toilet facilities. At the same time, he added that there are no changing rooms for tourists and illegal hawking has reached its peak and on top of that, women are not safe on the beaches.
