New Delhi: For the last few days, the political corridors are abuzz with lot of equations in connection with the Presidential elections. The election would be fought between veteran Congress leader and UPA’s chief trouble shooter Pranab Mukherjee and former Lok Sabha Speaker and former Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) leader Purno A Sangma.

It is surprising that some days ago, Sangma announced his candidature for the Presidential polls after resigning from the NCP. However, his daughter Agatha Sangma remains a minister in the Congress-led UPA government. The relentless campaign by Agatha Sangma for her father’s Presidential candidature has prompted the party’s youth wing for her ouster not only from the party but also from the Union Cabinet.

In an e-mail sent to Jagranpost, National general secretary of the NCP youth wing Rajkumar Yadav sought her removal from the party as well as from the Union Cabinet. In connection with this, Rajkumar Yadav will send a letter to the Prime Minister Manmohan Singh demanding a prompt action against her. Agatha has not created any conducive atmosphere for the youth despite the fact that she was being promoting as a youth face of the NCP, said Yadav.

The youth leader Rajkumar Yadav also criticized the last month’s hook or crook campaign to build pressure on four NCP MLAs to switch the loyalties to the Biju Janata Dal in Odisha. It is to be noted that Agatha is a Member of Parliament in 15th Lok Sabha from Tura constituency in Meghalaya.
