New Delhi: Will the Congress be successful in pacifying NCP chief Sharad Pawar and the stand-off between the two allies be resolved? This question is doing the rounds on Monday as the NCP leadership is all set to hold a crucial meet in order to decide the future course of action with the coalition government at the Centre.

The NCP leaders are scheduled to meet at Pawar’s residence and discuss several issues related to coalition on Monday.

As per sources, Sharad Pawar is allegedly eyeing a plum portfolio and wants to hand back the Agricultural Ministry to the Congress. With high prospects of drought, Pawar also wishes to be a part of the crucial cabinet committee.

These are believed to be the key points likely to be discussed in the meeting and thereafter put before the Congress leadership for their final call.

It was reported last week that both Pawar and his associate Praful Patel on Friday in Delhi had sent their resignations to Prime Minister, which was not accepted.

Later, the NCP chief has met Prime Minister Manmohan Singh and UPA chairperson Sonia Gandhi to express his concerns about the coalition with UPA.
