Haridwar: What would come as a big relief to Acharya Balakrishna, a close aide of yoga guru Baba Ramdev who is under CBI scanner in a fake passport row, the Nepal government has said that Balakrishna has never been booked for any offence in the country and he is known to be a respectable citizen of India back home.

Interestingly, 10 days back in an advertisement published by the Nepal government, it was clearly mentioned that no criminal case has been registered against Balakrishna in the country.

In a telephonic conversation with Jagran, Dulluraj Basnet, Chief District Officer (CDO), Syangja district informed, “Acharya Balakrishna is a native of Syangja district and is considered as a man of repute here. His parents and other members of the family reside here.”

“As per my knowledge, even the Indian government has not sought any details about him,” the CDO added.

In his reply to a question on any kind of probe being conducted by the Nepal government the CDO said, “Nepal government has already cleared in its advertisement that he has not been named in any criminal case in the country."

The advertisement was published in 'Nepal Sandesh', a magazine published by the Nepal government.
