"You are elected from the Northeast state of Assam. Stop racial discrimination on the people of N-E Region in Delhi and NCR. We are also Indians," NESO advisor Samujjal Bhattacharjee said.
"Ensure the safety and security to people of the region in Delhi and NCR," leader of the apex student body of the region demanded, addressing reporters in Guwahati.
NESO chairman and Khasi Students Union of Meghalaya, Samuel Jeora strongly protested the death of Arunachal Pradesh student Nido Tania after he was allegedly beaten to death by some shopkeepers in Lajpat Nagar in South Delhi.

Condemning the alleged rape of the minor Manipuri girl in Munirka of Delhi on February 7, NESO general secretary and All Manipur Students Union advisor, Srinam Prakash said that NESO will soon meet the Prime Minister and Union Home Minister regarding issues of the North-East students in Delhi and NCR region.
The NESO will also stage a sit in a protest demonstration in front of the Raj Bhavan in Guwahati on February 14 from 11 am to 2 pm to protest the attack on N-E people, Bhattacharjee said, adding, that day the NESO components will go on protests at the state headquarters in their respective states.
