United’s new 750 million pound kit deal with sportswear giants Adidas has helped them re-establish their position as world’s most valuable club, leaving behind current European champions Real Madrid, it was revealed on Tuesday.

Shares went up to around five percent on the New York Stock Exchange as a consequence of the deal on Tuesday, increasing United’s value to 2.1 billion pound.

This news bode well for the new manager Louis Van Gaal, who will take over the reins at Old Trafford on Wednesday, as it would significantly increase the transfer kitty available to him to buy new players.

United are currently linked with a host of top footballers and Van Gaal, who will fly with the team for their American pre-season tour on Friday, would look to sign couple of players before the start of the Premier League season.

United finished a lowly seventh in the Premier League last season and failed to make it to any of the European competitions, which can work as a boon for them as the season unfolds.
